Jordan Abroad!!
In October of 2023 the beginning of my sophomore year I knew I wanted to study abroad. My plan was to study abroad for my entire junior year of college. After months of meticulous research, planning, and a long list of countries to choose from I chose Kingston University in London, England for the fall semester and I am currently at the International University of Rabat in Morocco for this spring semester
Moving to London to study was a real cultural experience. Seeing how the British lived and went about life was something I had only seen on TV or in movies. It was a great opportunity to meet people from all over Europe and not only share my American culture but share my African-American culture with them. Just adding “studying abroad” to my resume opened so many more doors for me. I was able to secure an internship back in America while being in London with Target as a Store Executive Intern. I was in England for 4 months and not only was I pushed out of my comfort zone but it made me grow personally and professionally.
Right now, I am currently at the International University of Rabat in Morocco. Going from a European country to an African country was another cultural shock itself. Seeing so many people who look like me and being exposed to North African culture has been amazing. I will be here in Morocco for 5 months and I can't wait to see what lies ahead. All this traveling and studying abroad has given me a more clear idea on what types of careers in marketing and international business I want to pursue after college.
